From one of the pioneering winemaking families in Austria’s burgeoning minimal intervention scene, this is a powerful, expressive take on sauvignon blanc. Fruit is brought to the winery, destemmed, fermented in tank and then aged in old wood for a year. Fresh and lively, yes, but quite mineral-rich due to the presence of quartz, flint and silica in the very stony soils. Great depth of flavour and texture, with a creaminess, roundness and rather serious structure. Complex, chin-stroking stuff. Certified biodynamic and sulphur-free. As natural as natural gets here, and all the better for it. An absolute cracker.
