A tiny producer from Rhone, up around Saint Joseph, but doing things a little differently. A young fella too. This is 80% viognier and 20% syrah. Magic. What a thing to do.
Smells sweet, floral, slightly game meaty, white pepper and a little brambly greenery. Nice. Soft in the palate, rolls long and lovely, succulent finish, gently sweet-sour fruit, very spicy, finishes with amaro-like tang and very fresh, just the faintest nutty savouriness to close. Such a delicious, curious, excellent drink. Reminds me of loose-knit, au naturale Burgundy in a way. - The Wine Front
