100% pais grown by Soledad Camaaño from 200+ year old vines in granite soils. Alice only made one barrel of this plump juicy red. A single barrique was made here. It’s the variety pais, from a 200-plus year old vineyard. Remarkable. It reminds me of when northern slopes Etna or alto Piedmont or a high country Spanish grenache is on song.
It's pale and bright, shimmering with its web of ultra fine, firm, silty tannins, all gossamer in texture, stains the palate gently with red berry fruitiness and light, sage and fennel-like herbal things. It's so fine, it feels like an antique lace doily, and yet flavours penetrate and stick long. Such a beautiful, fine and pure feeling wine. Compelling. - The Wine Front
