Transcontinental Rum Line Panama 2013
Regular price $140.00
The Panama is a wonderfully lifted and classically tropical rum, made from Molasses and column distilled and aged for 5 years in ex-bourbon barrels, with no additions of sugars or colourings, at Don Joe Distillery near the Panama Canal. Exotic and floral fruits on the noise there are warm notes of vanilla, clove, nutmeg and a touch of dry manzanilla sherry.
The Transcontinental Rum Line range is inspired by the voyages of rum casks between the New World and the Old Continent (Europe), a collaboration between French independent bottler La Maison du Whisky and Velier (an Italy-based Rum innovator that developed its own Caribbean Rum line in the 1980s). Less than 10 cases are chooses for each rum with each style of rum never exceeding 2000 bottles. The rums do the bulk of their ageing in their country of origin and then transported to the LMDW’s facility in Cognac to complete their ageing, in this case 5 years in Panama and 1 year in Cognac.
