This is one of the world's great cult wine producers but relatively unsung outside the nerdiest of wine drinker circles. The estate lies in Provence, technically, but is more akin to southern Rhone Valley, is farmed organically, and celebrates low yielding vines with intense fruit character emerging from the varying plots. This is a textural white formed from the grape varieties marsanne, roussanne and chardonnay, with splashes of clairette and grenache blanc - they are fermented naturally, matured in large format old barrel, left on lees, build incredible, lightly chalky texture, drive long in lemon, lemon verbena and Real Lemonade flavours, and generally result in a wine that is as memorable as wine can be. They will age well too, for, let's say, up to 15 years or so too. Rare, brilliant wines.
