100% chardonnay from champagne queen Valerie Frison. Moderately unusual for the Côte-de-bar as the predominate planting is, of course, pinot noir. The Kimmeridgian soil and slightly warmer climates make for a softer champagne, with more breadth and subtlety than the northern styles.
This champagne is super pretty, with whiffs of soft white fruit, rose petal and grapefruit, and a creamy hazelnut delicateness, and a zippy minerality which ties everything together nicely. Perfect proposal champagne.
