Xavier Goodridge is drawing gaze for his light, delicate, exotic takes on regional staples from Victoria, previously sourcing from a variety of regions, now bunkering down in the Otways. This wine is 100% cabernet sauvignon, from St Andrews in Yarra Valley. Picked light but ripe it is pressed and sent to barrel to age on lees. Serious, but fun, but fresh. Strawberry whiffs, touch of vanilla cream. Simple and pretty perfume. Strawberries and cream in palate, juicy, bright, very well made feel, touch of slipperiness to texture and a brisk, starburst of acidity to close. Nice dusting of spice throughout. So clean and bright and just a hint of savouriness. Really delicious. Lovely stuff here.
