Let’s preface, this is the value packed chardonnay of the year. Mostly from Limestone Coast but with Mount Gambier and Coonawarra in the mix. Aromas of cinnamon toast, preserved lemon, faint caramel, green apple, ginger and bergamot tea. There’s a crispness to texture yet a slipperiness in there too – touches of toffee apple, ginger, more cinnamon toast, rich lemon curd, a touch of pulpy grapefruit and lime. You could open the dictionary and look to the chardonnay entry and this is there. It’s sublime in drinking, it resonates in the complexity department, it’s delicious.
