Strong currency of Touraine, cabernet franc, very limestone and sea shell orientated vineyard, with big beach bits scattered through it. Unique, old school, small scale, mature produce (vigneron is hitting 70 years old). Full organic, no additions.
Pops with red cherry, rhubarb, capsicum and white pepper scents, par for the course of the variety. Juicy in the palate, lots of flint and dark choc-cherry, fine, granular tannin profile, some meaty notes but so delightfully pure and plush. Quite chocolatey here, which the producer says the soil provides.
