Blind Unicorn Pet Nat White

Naughty Solo, Not Your Grandad's Pub Squash, Yellow Tang Juice, just some of the names this wine has been given since gracing our Fizzy shelves. And that actually sums it up pretty well. Made from certified organic chenin blanc grapes, in the petillant naturel style, by the humble Ben Gould of Blind Corner.

Kevin White 2023

Kevin is the newest, freshest release from the Brian wine trio of Peter Dredge (Dr Edge), Joe Holyman (Stoney Rise/Holyman) and our Mike Bennie. Kevin wines are wines that sit outside the usual trio of releases from Brian, born from additional creativity and interest in unusual blends. Oh, and instead of 375ml, Kevin is in 750ml bottles...

Here we have a blend of riesling and semillon. Not uncharted territory in terms of blends that may have occurred before, but from Tasmania, perhaps a first. This is textural in that beautifully chalky, puckering way, super bright in acidity, very refreshing, chock full of vibrant citrus characters and loaded with briny minerality. Whoa. This is the summery wine of your dreams.

Balmy Nights Amber 2022

Wild fermented separately without adjustments. Skin contact pinot and skin contact sauvignon blanc, the two coming together and made with love by our very good mate Dan Simmons (Grafted Wines) and his organic winemaker pal in the Hunter Valley, James Becker (Becker Wines). It's a squeaky textured, sour-but-fresh, citrus and stone fruit soaked orange wine with chomp to texture and good times writ large. Lots to sink one's teeth into.

Chateau Comme Ci Comme Ca Gris Rose 2022

Whole bunch and destemmed grapes in a mix of stuff in the wild ferment. Skinsy, chewy, highly perfumed thing. Juicy cherry, some diffuse, watery sensations, nice little pucker of chalkiness in the mix. Talc-like elements. Vibrant and high drinkability.

Xavier Goodridge Pa Pa Pinot Noir 2023

From two sites in South West Victoria, this is a pinot noir built for youthful drinking, centering on the wines vivacious nature and fresh fruit and bright spice characters. Pretty with cinnamon and alpine herb scents over tart cherry and pomegranate juice. Similar to taste, a little crunch to texture, a swish of plushness, a light, firming tannin pucker to finish. Just so. Delicious drinking, effortless stuff. Right on.

Wizard Piss III Red 2022

Wizard's Piss is the brainchild of Sam Leyshon from Mallaluka in Yass, NSW with the original wine one that stood out from Sam’s usual roster of wines and labelled for its more alternative styling. This third release is no slouch either. Wizards know stuff...
