Konpira Maru Mt Midoriyama Chevaucher l'Eclair 2023
The fruit is sourced from Clare Burder’s outstanding Eminence Vineyard. A solid baseline if there ever was one for sparkling wine. This is a pretty and bright pet nat, offering up pleasing cherry, stone fruit, citrus and cashew nut savoury elements in a pleasing mesh that feels both interesting and revitalising at once. Good, persistent bubbles help things along nicely; so too the minerally-saline core of the wine. It’s neat and tidy yet still plenty of fun. Very good drinking.
