Produced by the excellent, cult winemaker Matt Rorick who is based in California but travels to Aus in his off-season of winemaking to play around with South Australian fruit. This is a wine he’s made over several years, a rosé-meets-orange wine from skin fermented pinot gris. Ruddy coloured, scents of tart cherry, nashi pear, caraway seeds, dried sage leaf and pepper. The palate sets up similarly, quite juicy but with a rub of dusty tannin to finish. Serious! Good! Delightful!
