Sursis is one of Tissot's most interesting wines... chardonnay, but from the savagnin only appellation of Chateau Chalon. Tissot thought the terroir was too interesting not to work with chardonnay there - the wine can't be labelled Chateau Chalon, therefore, but irrespective we get an absolute gem of a wine from that place.
It is a wine of concentration and yet freshness, briny minerality coursing through the cinnamon-dusted apple fruit characters with licks of regional 'fino sherry savouriness' likewise present. The wine shows great depth, lingers for ever after each sip, and generally feels serious and complex. The 2018 vintage is for enjoying in youth, which is great news for those seeking early pleasure.
