Francois Blanchard Voila... 2020

Fifth generation winemaker and jazz musician, Francois' first official vintage was in 2003. The Boisson Vivante grapes are grown on twenty hectares, of which four are dedicated to vineyards and the rest are home to vegetables, fruit trees and Francois' two horses. Three of those hectares are in Le Grand-Clere, with clay and silex soils. This wine, the Voila..., is  sauvignon blanc from vines that are around fifty years old. The grapes are picked at the apex of their maturity, and are pressed directly to old barrels for elevage for two years. 
A deep and intense wine, incredibly fragrant and oxidative. Think ripe quince, pear and apple, honey nut crunch cereal, and licks of salty goodness.
