Caroline Ledédenté - Grain par Grain

Caroline Ledédenté - Grain par Grain

Caroline Ledédenté is the brilliant mind and passion behind the up and coming Domaine Grain par Grain. A super star in the making for sure. As the name implies, she's done things little by little. First, working with natural wine in a few tip top restaurants in Paris and then transfering her love, interest and energy into making wines herself. So, off she went to the Jura to study winemaking and biodynamics and then to Bugey where she worked under one of the young generation superstars of Savoie, Gregoire Perron.

Caroline stayed in Bugey and eked out her first vintage in 2018 from her .28 hectare holding and the help of local organic growers. She now farms four luscious hectares of jaquere, chasselas, altesse, aligote, mondeuse and gamay and has a second vintage under her belt. Everything is organically farmed and there are absolutely no adds at any point during the winemaking process.

This 2019 release - three alpine fresh whites and two bright joyous reds - marks the first where all the wines were made solely from the grapes Catherine grew on her own. All the wines have purity, personality and joyousness in spades. They are immensely nuanced and interesting as all get out. Don't miss the chance to get your mitts on some of the most special and sought after wines to come out of this region in yonks. There are but a few bottles of each to be had on our shores so if you're keen, you better move.
