Cyclic Beer Farm

Hype beer alert! In 2016, after many years in the brewing and hospo scene, friends Alberto Coromina and Joshua Wheeler decided to throw in together and start Cyclic Beer Farm in the La Sagrera neighbourhood of Barcelona. Inspired by traditional Belgian beers, particularly Farmhouse Ale and Saison, these two are all about pushing boundaries and experimenting. They've gone their own way by developing their own mixtures of yeast and bacteria, focusing on mixed fermentation using whatever is best and in season and explore the natural synergies between making beer and wine (naturally of course).

The beers are produced using fruit, vegetables, herbs and flowers that come from the family farm located in the bucolic parish of Alt Empordà of Catalonia. Anything else they need comes from small local organic growers - they get the grapes for their wine and their Macabeu from the legends at Partida Creus!

Super limited. Super good times. Here's the lowdown on everything we've got going.

Saison is Cyclic's no nonsense tip of the hat to traditional farmhouse brewing. Citrus and light spice. Easy on the eyes. Macabeu is an out-of-the-box beer that's been macerated on wine stems and skins. It's tart-sour and in the citrus spectrum, lightly herbal and saline with and ultra high refreshment factor. It's got that edginess that keeps us at our glass.
Digresion is a special brew for a special cause. It's a blended saison that Cyclic made in collaboration with an association of local Spanish breweries, in order to raise funds for those hit by COVID-19. Jamaica is the duo's first citrus beer. This is where it's at for us. It's tart, tangy and juicy with a capital J. The lip-smacking tang comes from organic hibiscus and oranges from the family farm. This is THE one for the park and getting your eye in with this quixotic brewery.
