Gazzetta Wines by Trish Nelson

There’s every chance you're acquainted with Gazzetta Wines by now, but if you're not, they’re a result of years spent travelling through Italy and working under some of the leading lights in the country’s lo-fi scene, such as Le Coste and Cantina Giardino. Trish now lives and works with her partner Piero in the hills above the lakeside town of Bolsena, roughly two hours northwest of Rome.

Together, they farm their two hectares organically with a strong focus on biodiversity,  growing not just grapes, but cherries, figs, olives and pears, with beekeeping in tandem. In the winery, the work is about as hands-off as it gets, with no additions whatsoever at any stage of the process. Late last year, a gas leak led to an explosion in the cellar, causing serious damage and leaving behind only some bottles of the 2022 harvest and a portion of the resting tanks from the current vintage.

We’re thrilled to be supporting Trish on her return to home soil, and to be hosting Sydney’s only tasting covering every one of her new cuvées. If you’ve met Trish, then you know what a joyful presence she is and if you’ve tried her wines, you know how expressive, energetic and full of life they are. If you haven’t…well, there’s only one way to find out.
