So, a bit of sad news... As some of you may have heard, our lease in Paddington is up, and we’ve made the tough decision to call last drinks, shut up shop at the end of the year and plant our feet back firmly at Newtown HQ. Boo hoo!
That being said, we reckon we’ve had a pretty ace run on Oxford Street, from our early DIY days to the current L’Avant Cave setup, with young gun chefs Wes Cooper-Jones, Zac Goddard and Leila Khazma all adding their stamp in between and going on to do great things. What a time. We trust you’ve enjoyed the vibe as much as we’ve enjoyed bringing it, and we hope we’ve shifted the needle in our own little way over east.
So, what now? Well…our dear pals and upstairs neighbours at Porcine will be taking over the whole space come January, carrying on the L’Avant Cave experience downstairs and out back in the courtyard (sans bottle-o), and keeping it status quo like you know and love in the bistro up top. That means, starting today, you’ve got three weeks left to experience the magic once more – we’ll be open as per normal from 4pm on Thursday and noon on Friday through Sunday, with Sunday the 21st as last day of wine bar trade. Nab your spot here, quick!
As for the bottle shop side of things, we’ll be open as per normal from noon on Wednesday through Sunday. In the lead up to Christmas, we’ll be open from noon on Monday the 22nd through Wednesday the 24th before we take a little break. The head honchos Lou and Mike will be reopening the shop for one last hurrah from 10am on New Year’s Eve Day, Wednesday the 31st, for farewells and all your last minute Champagne needs.
