Mattia Dicati - VinoMito

Mattia Dicati - VinoMito

Forged in the incredible think tank and hospitality crucible that is 10 William Street wine bar, VinoMito is a beautiful wine import business that focuses on Itailian natural wines. Run by the affable and delightful Mattia Dicati, this is a portfolio of heart and soul with extraordinary wines from artisan, family producers. Mattia is an Italian native who travels regularly to Italy to visit wine regions. He shares with us a diverse array of fine wines, from the highly sought-after ‘nun wines’ of Monastero Suore to the expressive wines of Valli Unite, the extraordinary social justice commune in southern Piedmont. We’re blessed to have Mattia working hard in our burgeoning wine community, introducing us to a kaleidoscope of interesting and delicious wines. And geez, he is such a nice human.

His six pack also includes a bottle of very special olive oil from Tuscan wine growers and mixed agriculture farmers Pacina. While we love the wines of Pacina, their olive oil is a very special treat in this collection. Wine-wise, there’s the staple of Fratelli Paradis and 10 William St, the crunchy, vibrant pet nat ‘Il Brut and The Beast’ from Valli Unite. Alongside this fizz we have the ‘nun wine’ ‘Coenobium’, a thirst-quenching textural white of skinsy chew and green apple-y pucker. Piccinin’s Muni must be one of the best orange wines we’ve seen in the past few months, and Sagono Gattorosso is the red blend (mostly sangiovese) we want for every pizza night. Erba Salate rounds out the pack with a juicy and herb-spiked montepulciano that feels best drunk with a light chill and consumed alongside your home-made, hand-made red sauce pasta. Magic wines (and a handy, brilliant olive oil) from a magic importer.
