Les Dolomies Arco Savagnin 2022

Wine named for their donkey Arco, who, with his donkey pal Hugo, carefully transport the grapes from vineyard to winery during the harvest. 100% savagnin grown in the same vineyard as the La Chaux chardonnay from Les Dolomies. This is a ouille wine, where the barrels are topped up to prevent oxidation and this cuvee is aged for 18 months before bottling. It is rakishly good, tongue-grabbing stuff. Deep rich flavours and a familiar salinity to tickle.
