Costadila Prosecco 450 SLM NV

Costadila are a hardcore natural wine producer based in Veneto, Italy, and release wines based on altitude of their organic vineyard sites, here at 450 metres above sea level, which is pretty darn high for the region. It’s a pet nat, orange-ish wine, but goes very light on the fizz and indeed, some bottles, with natural variation, end up more like a table wine. Fun. It’s squeaky in texture, chock full of preserved lemon and ginger characters with a vein of cashew and almond nuttiness shot through. Lots of character here, a pretty big wild streak, an energetic and left-of-centre expression that begs for salty foods alongside.
