Grolleau. Anjou with vines on schist. The winery is a cave, literally, without a door, though it stays very cool in there. The vineyards of Marula tend to be somewhere between 70 through 100 years old, though this vineyard is around 50 years old.
Spicy, musky, earthy, sweet cherry too, some moss and game meat there too. Crisp and fresh to feel in the palate, sour cherry spectrum, really clear in the palate though you do get some mossy, savoury notes, a touch of hazelnut, twiggy herbs, salumi amongst crisp, bright fruit. Many dimensions in this tense frame.
