Michel Couvreur Overage 12/24 Years Malt Whisky
Regular price $200
Overaged Malt Whisky is a vatting of single malts aged between 12 and 24 years in oak casks and resulting from a cognac (double) distillation method with a mash exclusively made of malted barley. Courveur's "Scotch" starts out in Scotland as bulk a.k.a.“clearach” (a high proof distillate) which is transferred to his humid cellar in Bouze-les-Beaune, France, to be aged in small sherry casks. All required dilutions are accomplished with bottled water from Scotland. Total production is about 50,000 bottles or 4,000 cases annually. Fragrance of dried flowers, flaxes tobacco, sherry wine (Pedro Ximenex) almonds and slight smoke accompany a powerful and long fruity and rich palate.
Drink before or after dinner (before AND after if you like!!) but always be sure to keep in your liquor cabinet at home!
