The unusual variety has found a home at Margan in the Hunter Valley, grown sustainably and made under this label by talented third gen winemaker Ollie Margan, under this, their alt-range of ‘Breaking Ground’ wines. It’s got some really nice saline characters amongst nashi pear, tonic water notes, lime and faint gingery elements. Juicy in some respects, though the finish finds a nice pucker and talc-like chew. A good vibe overall is the message.
