5Nines Distilling Single Cask Single Malt Whisky Altar Wine Cask Strength

Hailing from South Australia, 5Nine Distilling are known for their limited release whiskies displaying different finishes casks can have on their drops. The Altar Wine Cask Strength has been aged in French oak which was sourced from the Clare Valley and was a barrel which originally housed Altar Wine (Sacrificial Wine). The char on this oak is heavy leaving into a deep and warm dram, notes of burnt butter, charred wood, nutmeg and spice lead into a long smooth and warm finish. At 64% this one isn't messing around, don't be fooled by the smoothness, small amount goes along way. Only 278 bottles made.
