The Afianes 2022 Raos Dry Red (Fokiano) comes from vines grown around the estate site at Profitis Ilias on Ikaria, giving it a true sense of place. Made from 100% Fokiano, this wine has a bright ruby hue and a rich, inviting aroma of ripe red and black fruits with a hint of pistachio. What really sets it apart is a subtle olive tapenade note, brief moments of Kalamata olive brine on the palate, adding that unique savoury depth.
It’s a sensational eating wine—well-balanced, approachable, yet complex enough to pair beautifully with red meats, mild red-sauce dishes, or rich yellow cheeses. Serve slightly cool at around 16–18°C to bring out the juicy fruit, silky tannins, and that distinctive Ikaria character.
