Calek’s wines are often described as ‘agricultural’ for their earthy, herbal, savoury elements, and there’s elements of that here, but it is true to the vineyards and surrounding screes of wild herbs and greenery that embellishes the character of his fruit. There’s ripe plum, black olive, sour cherry elements in the mix too, all up finding a charisma-packed red of medium weight and grainy plushness that will have you hounding your glass.
