Artuke Trascuevas Rioja Blanco 2023

From a spot not far off Rioja Alta, but Rioja Alavesa. This is the fourth vintage of this wine. Mostly viura (approx 90%) but with bits of palomino fino (salt) and malvasia (sweet) in the wine.

Sheesh, this is distinctly a salty white wine, but has the juiciness and stone fruit richness to balance things out, though you can’t escape the wild scratch of brine and nuttiness that accompanies. It’s seriously complex, intense in a way, super palate resetting and uplifting. Fragrant, flavoursome, then that crunch and pucker. Whaddawine!  - The Wine Front
