Babche Wines Sangiovese 2025

Cory Hope grows this sangiovese, organically, and it comes to the bottle without additives. Pyrenees is the underpinning.

It feels quite firm and dry, savoury, laced with just-ripe cherry fruitiness, sooty spices, shiitake mushroom and some bitter herbs in tow. Peppery too, some sweeter, leafier Italianate herbs in the mix. All of this in a quite refreshing, shy of medium weight frame. It feels a little grippy, gritty and dryer than expected, perhaps, but in that the restraint does well for a fancier of finer wine. - The Wine Front
