This wine is the absolute rarest of the rare to begin with, and we've had a single bottle of the 2003 vintage squirreled away in our cellar for a years now, just waiting to see the light of day. Now is that time, and this is a not-to-be missed opportunity for serious Barolo lovers to get their hands on a beautifully aged bottle of one of the worlds truly great reds.

Often considered the Holy Grail of Barolo, Cappellano’s Pie Franco is definitely one for the collectors and nebbiolo fanboys. It’s arguably the most delicate wine in the Cappellano stable, but it’s a wine of breathtaking intensity. High-toned, bursts of red cherry, raspberry, rose petals. Evolves just beautifully in the glass, revealing more savoury depth: moss, mushrooms, seaweed, tar. Elegantly structured, with pristine acidity and a trail of fine tannins. Straight to the poolroom with this one!
