Cappelletti Amaro Sfumato Rabarbaro

A wonderfully characterful bitter Amaro from Trento, in the Italian Alps. 

Rabarbaro (Rhubarb) Amari employ dried Chinese Rhubarb root as the primary bittering agent, in lieu of other common botanicals such as Gentian. This gives these Amari a deep, earthy flavour profile, with a distinct woody/smoky character to them. 

Cappalletti take this backbone and deftly weave an array of locally source alpine herbs and berries around it. The result is  a beautifully balanced and complex Amaro with a pronounced bittersweet character, lifted notes of citrus and cedar, and the trademark smokiness that is the hallmark of the style.
