Champagne Val Frison R-17 Portlandia Brut Nature NV

For many years, Valerie’s family were growers and selling their grapes to the local co-op or negociants. In 2000, she opted to farm organically and in 2007 produced her first cuvee. 

Savoury, red fruit and toasted apple with acidity for days. This is a very complex and detailed Champagne that leads with its purity, strong mineral elements, cashew nut savouriness with the red fruit bolstering all this. There's a distinct breadth to flavour with a laser-like core, a thread even, of briny minerality. Wonderful drinking, so pleasurable.
