Clairin Vaval Ansyen 4 Years Old Caroni Cask

Clairin is a traditional Haitian spirit made from sugarcane. It has a distinctive, earthy flavor as it’s produced using wild yeasts and pot still distillation, preserving its rustic character. Unlike refined rums, Clairin reflects Haiti’s cultural heritage through its raw, authentic taste.

A rare expression from the Vaval farm distillery, this Clairin was matured for 49 months in an ex-Caroni cask, acquiring a refined secondary smokiness that harmonizes with its naturally intense grassy and fruity profile. On the nose, this clairin presents a vibrant bouquet where fresh, grassy sugar cane aromas meld effortlessly with deeper oak and tropical fruit notes. The palate reveals a sophisticated complexity, balancing the earthy sweetness of cane with subtle smoky undertones and nuanced spicy oak character.
