There’s a history with this variety, this we know. There seems to have been a shift in recent, deliverable years, those that made it to a single variety release, where finesse has moved in and some of the wilder edges have been pared back. It’s stellar from 2024. A huge wow moment.

Move over top flight reds of alpine Italy, a new contender is in your realm! It’s quite a thing here, sleek texture, fine tannin profile, alpine herbs galore, aniseed/fennel, dark cherry, cola, graphite, smoky paprika. A long list of things but all set in a stony minerality, firm and yet fresh. Exceptional balance, primed at just-shy of medium weight, persistent as all get out. A wine so confident and relaxed, easy to drink, but with all the x-factor. Utterly superb. Could be a contender for Australian red wine of the year for me. Believe it. - The Wine Front
