Single estate Mezcal, QuiQuiRiQui is made in small batches in collaboration with families who have been producing traditional mezcal in their communities for generations. Produced in the village of Santiago Matatlan this Pechuga Mezcal is different... it is vegan... yes yes you read right, swapping out the protein for a Méndez family Mole recipe which includes chile Guajillo, chile Ancho, sesame seeds, almonds, peanuts, garlic, onion, raisins, bananas and cacao with QQRQ Espadin agave as its base. You can find the classic agave sweetness which is balanced out by smoke, spices, pepper and a nutty earthy finish. A truly unique and complex mezcal here that goes for days. A drink to watch the sunset with.
The name "Qui-Qui-Ri-Qui" (pronounced Kee-Kee-Ree-Kee) comes from the sound a rooster makes.
