Daniele Piccinin Kalipè Pinot Nero 2022

This is pinot nero (noir) from younger generation winemaker Daniele Piccinin, a farmer intent on biodiversity in and amongst his vines and a steadfast au naturale approach to winemaking. From Veneto, this wine takes on some distinct dried, Italian herb, fennel and truffle characters amongst squishy, black cherry, rose hip tea and splashes of blood orange freshness elevating energy and vibrancy. An almost amaro-like undertow in there too. Wonderful stuff. Exciting, unique and for thought-provoking and delicious drinking moments.
