Daniele Piccinin Lariòn Chardonnay 2023

From the province of Verona, this is a blend of chardonnay with a portion of rare, local variety durella blended in. The chardonnay sees some skin fermentation for colour and texture, the durella is direct pressed and matured in barrels to add minerality and body. The resulting wine is distinctly complex but comes with a sense of maritime influence in sea spray, salty-savoury characters and a coastal herb and succulent nuance. Green apple, tonic water, gingery spice around and amongst that. A stunning, textural wine.
