The area of Savoie has been planted with vines since the roman era, yet many vineyards lay fallow. In 1998 a team of passionate people worked to resurrect two steep and rocky areas overgrown by forest. Together they created Domaine des Ardoisieres. The domaine is now led by Brice Ormont, originally from the Champagne region and considered to be Savoie’s brightest star.
50% jacquere, 30% bergeron (also known as roussane), 20% malvoisie (also known as malvasia), and 10% mondeuse blanche. This wine is matured in oak barrels. Saline, smoky, power, length. This will take your tingling taste buds hurtling down the mountain at full throttle!
