Domaine Vincent Carême Vouvray Le Clos 2023

Le Clos is a 2.30 ha plot surrounded by walls built in the 16th century and adjoining an old castle that is part of the same locality. As its name suggests, this fence symbolized a boundary to prevent any thief or predator from accessing the precious grapes.

The 60-year-old vines are located on the first west-facing slopes overlooking the Brenne valley. The shallow clay-limestone soil will give density and structure to the wine, with great aging potential.

A rich nose with aromas of pear and acacia, the palate is structured with notes of quince and a touch of smoke, and a saline finish is observed. - Vincent Carême
