Fontanabianca Barbera d’Alba Superiore 2021

Barbera here. It does what barbera should in being all about the red berry fruitiness with lashings of sweet and savoury spice. A herbal twist in there makes for additional interest, so too a sprinkle of clove/cinnamon brown spices. Sits around medium weight but the acidity is so lively it perks up and almost feels lighter weight in style, tannins wrap around nicely and reset the palate with each sip. Kinda classic, but with the organic, au naturale approach, a bit livelier and with higher drinkability. We like the vibes of this producer very much.
