Frederick Stevenson Sangiovese 2024

Since taking this vineyard on in 2017, I’ve been taken by its ability to provide very elegant, cool climate fruit expression from the nose and into the mouth, but carry present and tight sangiovese tannin and spice to make it a compelling drink.

A mild and dry ripening season lead to a long period of flavour and tannin development. Dark cherries, plums and raspberries on the nose, with background forest floor, gamey notes. Cherries, spiced plums, dried rose petals, balsamic strawberries and drying tannin with a nice easy out to fresh acid and slight tea and tobacco notes. - Frederick Stevenson
