Johannes Zillinger Revolution Pink Solera NV

Johannes took over his family estate in 2012, continuing the vision of his father Hans who was a pioneer of organic viticulture in Austria in the 1980's. With 40 years of organic farming, the winery benefits from incredibly strong and healthy soils and vines. 

The "Revolution" wines are all non-vintage blends of grapes and vintages based on a solera system. This is an energetic blend of roesler, syrah, and a splash of St Laurent.  

Fermentation takes place on skins in amphorae and all the wines are aged in 600L acacia barrels; the final wine comes from a solera method that has aged for almost ten years. Amazingly fine yet so very complex. A statement wine of amazing drinkability and detail. Wow stuff.
