Jura Masterclass w/ Mike Bennie // Newtown // DATE COMING SOON!!!

Back in the house by popular demand! Hosted by wine writer/presenter, co-founder of P&V Merchants, and Jura lover, Mike Bennie, this masterclass is a journey into one of the world’s most fascinating and exciting wine regions.

Mike has been to the Jura region on many occasions, mainlining the personalities, wine styles and landscape of this most thrilling appellation. The tasting will cover all five major grape varieties and styles of the Jura, highlighting some of the most significant producers and wine growing areas.

Jura is home to halcyon natural wine producers like Pierre Overnoy, the Ganevat family, charismatic Phillipe Bornard and a myriad of smaller vignerons who are eking out a diversity of small-batch, organic, naturally produced wines of with incredible appeal. This class will explore the tight-rope walk between sous voile (ullaged) and ouillé (topped up) wine styles and showcase sparkling wines, light-fresh reds born from trousseau and poulsard grape varieties, and, of course, the famous Vin Jaune ‘yellow wines’.
