Les Bottes Rouges Boomerang Ploussard Trousseau 2023

Jean-Baptiste Menigoz, previously a teacher, is a small-scale vigneron working with tiny plots of vines across varied districts of Jura. He has amassed a cult following for his pure, lively renderings of local varieties. These are indeed, very rare wines. Unusually named! A spicy, frisky red wine that leans into the more delicate nature of the varieties. It's glassy-textured, peppered with sage leaf, autumn leaf savouriness but mostly shows off cranberry drink vibrancy, rose hip tea sweetness and dryness, a dash of wild raspberry adding depth to the lightweight frame. A hauntingly beautiful wine.
