Les Bottes Rouges Tôt Ou Tard Poulsard 2023

Jean-Baptiste Menigoz, previously a teacher, is a small-scale vigneron working with tiny plots of vines across varied districts of Jura. He has amassed a cult following for his pure, lively renderings of local varieties. These are, indeed, very rare wines. Poulsard in the hands of Menigoz is pale, savoury, shimmies with feathery tannin and sits at the lighter end of the red wine spectrum. Dried and fresh cherries, some truffle notes, a squish of salted liquorice, a cool, glassy, gently herbal finish. A beauty.
