Lichtenberger González Blaufränkisch Ried Edelgraben 2018

This could be one of the more complicated names for an Australian drinker, but hey, dive in. The wine itself, produced from the local, blaufränkisch variety, is distinctly light weight but packs in plenty of character - hazelnut savouriness, a touch of sweet, turned earthiness, pepper, green alpine herbs and dried floral notes - with a fine feeling core of dark cherry and tart plumminess. A beautiful wine.
