Various maceration lengths and times work their magic here. That means, a bit more complexity and interest in getting character out of the grapes. 

Frisky, pleasingly bitter and restrained pinot noir, evocative in its pale garnet colour, leans with confidence into tart cherry, alpine herbal notes, Italianate bitterness and a requisite firming web of tannin building and shaping the wine despite its lighter, pure frame. Delightful, delicate red with pluck and verve. Kinda dark rosé and yet all the complexity of proper pinot noir. Awesome. - The Wine Front
