Japanese winemaker Seiichi Sait moved to France in 2006, he then spent over a decade learning from others in Burgundy before buying a tiny 1.3ha of organic vineyard. Petit Roy wines communicate Seiichi's meticulous and tidy approach with his passion for wine. He has an allergy to copper-sulphate and avoids it at all costs, using biodynamic preparations in the vineyards like teas and essential oils instead.
Here we have pinot noir from 90 year old vines in Échevronne, grown on clay and hard limestone. 100% whole bunch. Red roses and black tea - more floral than fruity. Linear, yet chewy profile with dark cherries and blackberries. Sticky fine tannins and chalky finish. Light, charming and sensible.
