PRE SALE // Massa Vecchia Rosato di Toscana 2022

This is 80% malvasia nera and 20% merlot. A dark, dark rosé. Twelve hours on skins, then pressed and then to 18 months in old barrel. Almost a light Rhone feel here, curiously. Spices and richness.

Chewy textured, fleshy and pulpy. Stewed and pickled cherries, panforte, alpine herbs, dusty spice, some turned earth and aniseed notes. A bit of brambly herbal lift in there too, more autumnal one could say, and the wine generally feels as such. Potent rosato. Serious wine. Great. - winefront.com.au
