Milan Nestarec UMAMI 2019
Milan Nestarec UMAMI 2019
Traminer from a historic site in the Czech Republic. Spends some hours in skins and then pressed off very slowly, then to Stockinger barrel.
This has so much going on. Power and presence. Concentration and length. A rich flow of supple texture, deeply intense in honeyed stone fruit characters, ripe apple, a curry powder note, sweet-exotic spices, touches of truffle, the earthy kind and white chocolate kind. Stains the palate then finishes super fresh and dry. Not a sweet wine per se, but the ripeness and carriage of the variety’s inherent lean to fruitiness and spice is here for sure. This is one to wow people with, but deliver it to glasses alongside softer cheese or pan-Asian cuisine with spice. - The Wine Front
